The tentative schedule is now available for the 2019 UBEA State Title Match on February 23, 2019 at Westlake High School. You can view the schedule here:
2019 UBEA State Title Match Tentative Schedule
As always, dancers should be ready to dance their event at least 20 minutes before the scheduled start time.
The Utah Ballroom Education Association and Westlake High School would like to invite you to participate in the UBEA State Title Match competition to be held at Westlake High School on Feb. 23rd from 8 am to 10 pm. This is our annual competition that is only open to the schools and students who are involved in school programs. Please fill out the following survey to show your interest in attending the competition. If you are receiving this email by accident, then please pass this on to your school’s ballroom director or provide us with a correct email address to reach him or her.
Â
The UBEA State Competition will also be following BYU and Provo High in changing all syllabus events into single dance only event. More information about that is provided in the survey, but all regular UBEA competition rules apply and can be found at this link:
After you respond, I will send out a separate google form for you to register your students for the events offered. Registration forms will be sent out starting Jan. 14th. Try to have the survey filled out by Jan. 18th to guarantee registration information in a timely manner. Remember that all couples/students must be in your school program (classes or teams) in order to qualify for this event. Meaning both students must be in your program or another charter, private, or public school program to compete for state titles under UHSAA (Utah High School Activities Association) and school guidelines.
Â
Tickets to the event will be $5 per person, $7 for a table seat (limited supply), $10 per couple when registering students for individual events, and $25 per team event (team match is free).
Lastly, we are keeping school specific events like previous years. By coming to the competition, you can create an event for your class(es)/team(s) for example: an open westcoast swing or syllabus paso doble event. This is to help highlight each school that comes and you can even still offer an event related to the dances that were dropped or highlight dancers your school works on. You are also more than welcome to invite any administration to present the awards for your school event if you let us know a head of time. Please indicate on the form what style and rules you’d like for your event.
